WANTED: CHORUS DIRECTOR

Capitaland Chorus Chapter of Sweet Adelines International

Do you have a desire to be a director of a barbershop chorus? We have an opportunity for you.

The Capitaland Chorus Chapter of Sweet Adelines International, chartered in 1977, is a vibrant women’s barbershop show and competition chorus with 60 active members. We have won regional honors and competed on the International stage four times, and are currently preparing for our fifth International competition, having placed among the top five mid-size choruses in the world.

Because of the retirement of our director of twenty-two years, Capitaland Chorus is currently accepting applications for a new director.

We have an active music team that has been deeply involved in the musical development of the chorus and its individual members. We strongly support coaching and other music education opportunities for the chorus, the team and our director.

Capitaland is continuously looking to improve its level of performance and to continue its championship tradition.

As director of the Capitaland Chorus your expenses associated with rehearsals, performances, educational events, and competitions are covered; travel, accommodation and costuming are included in these expenses. It is our custom to pay the director a small weekly honorarium in appreciation for time and effort.
