Into Wishin' Quartet
In the short time Into Wishin’ has been together as a quartet, they have developed a fun and entertaining approach to performing both barbershop and other musical favorites.
Kathie (Lead), Merideth (Bass), Laurie (Baritone) and Isie (Tenor) are
Into Wishin’ that they can continue to share their love of singing and look forward to bringing joy to their audiences!
Left to Right: Laurie, Kathie, Merideth, and Isie.
Into Wishin' is proud to honor America by singing our National Anthem at
Joe Bruno Stadium to open a Valley Cats Baseball game.
Kathie has been involved with music for many years, but truly found her musical passion when she discovered SAI and acapella four-part harmony 15 years ago. Having sung the lead part with several quartets (including one top ten Regional Quartet), Kathie has found that there is great satisfaction and lots of hard work involved in making those chords ring! When not enjoying this wonderful hobby, Kathie is Chief Operating Officer for Prudential Manor Homes and shares her home with her husband John.
Merideth has been singing for most of her life but is brand new to Barbershop and quarteting but loves every minuteof it. She has quickly developed a love of 4-part harmony as a bass. Merideth has worked for many years in college student housing. She also loves to bake and spend time with her family.
Laurie has also been a member of Sweet Adelines for over 10 years, and has recently switched from the lead part to baritone. (Is she nuts?) She is a "newbie" to quarteting and is just loving singing with these wonderful women. Laurie is a family nurse practitioner who just sees pediatrics and works in Cobleskill for Bassett Healthcare. She and her husband Mark love the outdoors, and music of all kinds.
Isabel (commonly known as Isie) has been a Sweet Adeline for more than 25 years, singing tenor. She has sung in several quartets, most recently singing with Kathie in Ain’t That a KICC!, a top-ten regional quartet. Isie is enjoying her retirement from teaching and education, and one of her biggest pleasures comes from traveling. She and her barbershopper husband Mike try to attend as many Barbershop conventions and shows as they can.

November/December 2016 Sweet Adeline of the Month: Angela Dourdis
Capitaland Chorus had a very successful show in November, and one of the reasons things went so well was because Angela served as the show chairperson. This is a difficult task, with so many details to coordinate, but Angela made sure things ran smoothly, and she did it with grace, patience, and charm. Thanks to the efforts of Angela and many other people who volunteered their time and took over whatever needed doing, everyone was able to relax on show night and enjoy doing what we do best: singing and performing to share the joy of barbershop harmony with our audience! Thanks Angela, for being a great show chair, lead, and part of Capitaland!
October 2016 Sweet Adeline of the Month: Cheryl Chalk
In addition to being an assistant section leader for the tenors where she provides encouragement and musical leadership, Cheryl is one of those behind-the-scenes people working on special projects. Most recently, Cheryl has worked on a special event hosted by Capitaland Chorus, where local Girl Scouts and the craft of barbershop singing come together! Participants will learn and sing with Capitaland, with a unique opportunity to earn a special badge. Thanks to Cheryl for coordinating this effort and for getting the message of harmony out to our younger women!
Capitaland Chorus 2016 Woman of Note:
We are so proud to have Diane as a member of our chorus, and to think she has only been a member for a relatively short time! Diane was voted in as a member of Capitaland in November of 2014, but has already contributed so much! Being a Sweet Adeline for many years and having sung with River Valley Chorus, Diane is now not only a valuable member of Capitaland's lead section, but this year took on the demanding role of CCL, Competition Chorus Liaison, which she combined with plenty of timely information and a positive outlook. Diane coordinated all of our communication regarding the 2016 regional competition, which also included hotel rooming/accommodations, no small feat! We want Diane to know that her organizational skills, willingness to help, and her smiling face are appreciated, and we're glad to honor you as our 2016 Woman of Note.
