Capitaland Chorus is a women's barbershop chorus and an award-winning chapter in Region 15 of Sweet Adeline's International (SAI). We are group of women of all ages and backgrounds who share a love of a cappella music, a passion for vocal education, and a desire to share our craft with the community! Membership is open to all women (including transgender women and non-binary people assigned female at birth).

Our weekly rehearsals include instruction in vocal production, performance skills, and repertoire practice with arrangements spanning across decades and genres: from big-band era crooners, to the Beatles, Jazz, Pop, Broadway, and Film. In addition, members have the opportunity to attend retreats and receive more intensive coaching from regional and international leaders in the field.

Capitaland performs throughout the year, as a full chorus, small ensembles, and/or quartets. We enjoy entertaining small private audiences, large public events, shows, weddings, holiday gatherings, and more. Particularly rewarding are our collaborations with local music educators and other community organizations to provide programming and demonstrations for aspiring, young vocalists. Our season culminates with the SAI Region 15 Convention and Contest each spring, where we compete with other choruses in the Greater NY/NJ area and showcase our hard work.

But perhaps our favorite thing about Capitaland is the camaraderie that often leads to life-long friendships. Choral singing is a team sport, and we strive to support and celebrate each other both on and off the stage!
